The PEACE mural – Newark’s largest collaborative artwork, painted by 500 Newark children in 14 schools, numerous community organizations and his honor Mayor Cory Booker, to greet the Dalai Lama and the International Peace Education Summit to the city. The PEACE mural was featured on page 1 of the Star Ledger on May 9, with the headline: “To Welcome Dalai Lama, Newark Pictures Peace.”

The Creation Nation Newark Art Parade, Newark’s largest collaborative youth art festival (now entering its 9th year) bringing thousands of artists, youth, schools and community organizations to Newark to march together to promote art and peace.

Creation of a Newark original art form, the “Animodules™” , a giant 8 foot high mobile sculptures created by artists in residence working with schools and communities. The Animodules have become Good Will Peace Ambassadors for the city of Newark, coming together annually to march for Art and Peace in the Creation Nation Parade, as well as representing the best of the city at events including Bloomfest, Hoopfest, the Harlem Book Fair, Essex County Riverfront Celebration and Turtle Back Zoo.  

Scholarships for over 60 Newark students to travel to France over the summer for a month long program of art, culture and French language immersion. 100% of these students have gone on to college.

The Rebranding of Newark and her next generation as positive agents of change and “Creation Nation” builders. This includes working with Brick City Development Corp; Teachers Village, a multi-use project incorporating 3 charter schools, teacher housing and retail space; the Newark Public Schools; independent schools; and community organizations, uniting the community through interactive arts education, and engaging youth in entrepreneurship.
