An Introduction to Photojournalism & Blogging

8 Week course, 2 days / week/ 3hrs. per session

Time: 1:00 – 4:00 PM

Studio Practice including: Use of digital cameras, lighting, digital printing and technology.  Through a series of lectures, seminars, and workshops, program will explore photo composition, digital processing, augmentation, color correction, photographic effects, and photo finishing.  Instruction in cropping, toning and printing teaches students to enhance their images.

History and Theory of Photography: A brief history of the development of photography and its role in relation to technology, art, and popular culture.

Writing Instruction including: One on one creative writing support to help develop student’s artistic voice as it relates to photography.  Compilation of student’s photographs and writing into an Internet blog.

Final Project to include digital class presentation and hard copy photo book.
