“Filmmaking is ultimately about teamwork.” – Guy Richie, filmmaker.
“I like the feeling of making things. It’s very very rewarding. And filmmaking is that type of experience, where you’re forced to collaborate with so many people. You’re involved in the beginning to end, you’re involved with so many elements, and when it’s done, you’re like, ‘I made this movie.’ ” – Chris Evans, actor.
Filmmaking is a complex process that requires collaboration based on the oldest medium of humanity, story telling. We see filmmaking as a key to the outside world, as well as a key to our own potential. The making of a film teaches us focus and teamwork. The film itself is a testament to our collaboration and individual talents. Filmmaking opens our curiosity and encourages us to push further as we create a final product that will live on far past this summer. You will learn skills in collaboration and tools in filmmaking that may serve you for years to come.
Our film will debut in Reykjavik and be submitted to youth media festivals around the world. You could find yourself on a red carpet somewhere, your name forever part of the credits.
To sum it up our educational approach through filmmaking is to:
-Foster individual interests and abilities by guiding students to find their role in a multifaceted collaboration.
-Give us a reason to listen deeply and explore further than what meets the eye.
-Have an archivable and diffusible form of storytelling to share with the world.
